National De-Lurking Week

I don't have a pretty picture, I don't have a button (found a lot of cool ones here and here but I couldn't figure out how to use them), I'm not even sure that I have an intriguing question to get you all out of your dark corners but it is National De-Lurking Week according to many of the blogs I read so I'd be extremely excited if you de-lurked and let me know who you are and how you got here and why you stayed (if you stayed).

Let's see, questions and topics to choose from:
Favorite flavor of ice cream?
Favorite John Cusack movie?
Best date ever/why one should ever re-enter the dating scene
Most surprising present ever received
Present given over which you are most proud
Favorite blog? (not fishing for compliments here, fishing for new blogs)

I promise that I have de-lurked on every blog I read that has asked me. So I'm not asking you to do anything I wouldn't do.

And, on a related but ridiculous note, am I the only person for whom the "word" de-lurking makes me think, "Captain! Klingon Bird-of-Prey uncloaking dead ahead!"?

    Favorite flavor of ice cream?

    ***Ben and Jerry's Phish Food

    Favorite John Cusack movie?

***Even though I've only seen it once, I'm still intrigued by the concept of "Identity". I really do want to see "Must Love Dogs," though.

Best date ever/why one should ever re-enter the dating scene

***I'm happy to say I've had a lot of good dates, but one that stands out was when Husband called to tell me to get a sitter for an ordinary Thursday night, then took me to a Jonatha Brooke concert in a TINY hall on the campus of Harvard. I didn't know what I was going to see until about two minutes before we walked into the place. / The dating scene, though it can be sucky beyond description, might just yield a winner. Hope springs eternal?? I'm grasping here - I'm sorry...

    Most surprising present ever received

***My engagement ring. I knew it was coming, so it wasn't a suprise in the strictest sense, but I didn't know how incredibly close it would come to what I had wanted because, to the best of my recollection, he never actually asked me what I wanted in an engagement ring.

Present given over which you are most proud

***Damn! You've stumped me on this one. Let me think about it and I'll get back to you...

Favorite blog? (not fishing for compliments here, fishing for new blogs)

***Well, given that I JUST tapped your for a list of new blogs, I'm not going to be much help to you for finding new ones, now, am I? I check in every day with you, BitchPhD, dooce, FluidPudding, and now BadNewsHughes. I laughed my ASS off about the Christmas entry!
