Growing like a hot person

People said Weeds was going to be all that. You know, I thought, sure, it'll be fine. turns out I'm a little in love with it. It's smart and conflicty and has good characters and it's a little wacky with while still being painfully real.

ProfDoc is a big fan of Mary Louise Parker. She and I have bantered back and forth about Sorkin's choice to to add her to the West Wing and her work there. I might have to revise my MLP position some. In the 6th episode of the first season MLP's widowed character watches a videotape of her husband making love to her and it just breaks my heart. I could watch it over and over. MLP makes a couple of simple and compellingly honest choices in the scene that a over the top good.

I highly recommend the show, and my plan to win you to the dark side starts with pictures of the hot people involved.

P.S. to ProfDoc: That thing I keep forgetting to tell you is, "Look, Denny is in Weeds, too, he's a busy guy!"

  1. Sigh. I was thinking of "borrowing" your "Hot People" idea and posting an ode to Grey's Anatomy in general - and Jeffery Dean Morgan in particular - but it felt like cheating. That being the case, consider this a request for a Grey's Hot People post, please.

I don't get Showtime, so I'll have to go to my video store to pick up the DVDs. How many seasons of Weeds are available?

  2. So, since I watched 20 mins of GA today, I know who Denny is.

I wish I got Showtime. And that MLP got to do the movie version of Proof.

  3. Chili, there's only 1 season of Weeds available on disc (2 discs, actually). About 12 half hour eps I think. Go get it.

Julie, sadly you aren't going to see much if any of Denny on GA anymore.

Showtime is definitely growing on me. Thank goodness for Netflix.

Have you been sucked into the dark side of the L word yet?

  5. Oh god yes? Have you not been reading faithfully? Very early in the hot people series you saw a lot of L worders. The writing sucks but Shane makes my skin quiver.
