Love, love, LOVE Edward Gorey. Wasn't I with you in Kate's when I bought the box set of notecards? I have the Amphigorey, too, from which one of my favorite limericks comes:
Each night, Father fills me with dread
as he sits at the foot of my bed.
I'd not mind that he speaks
in sputters and squeaks,
but for seventeen years, he's been dead!
