Love, Mum

When MamaKizz leaves messages on my voice mail she never quite feels comfortable ending them. After she's said all she needs to say there's always a bit of an awkward pause and then she says, "Love, Mum" like she's sending me a letter.

  1. Heh. I don't do that, but I can TOTALLY understand why she does. I've taken to ending a lot of my online comments with "Love, Chili" lately. I guess it just feels rude to not include some sort of closing...

  2. Yeah, it makes total sense to me that she does it but I still think it's funny.

  3. I end all of my phone calls with: "What do you think of THAT shit, yo?"

  4. Anonymous9:10 PM

My mom does the same thing. I don't think I'd notice it, were it not for the awkward pause or slightly pained tone of her voice.

She's making great progress with email, though. I even taught her how to use smilies.

  5. Rich, you must be so popular with the parents of your soccer team.

Oh yeah, Beck, it's the pause that makes it bizarre, it's a decision and it's the same decision she makes every time.
