A Maniac On The Floor

I have taken over 200 photos in the past week and here they are:
Just kidding. I have taken that many photos but I'm not uploading them all here for your perusal. I took about 10 shots of decorative cabbages the other day, it was fun and instructive but I know enough not to make you look at all of them. I'll just pick the top 5.
Kidding again! However, here I am posting 2 versions of the same shot of Little Seal. The top one is doctored by me and the bottom one is straight out of the camera. I think I actually made it worse instead of better. In iPhoto my version looked better but now not so much. What do you think?

No, you made it better. It's a wonderful picture! (And I'm not biased at all :-)

  2. See. This is an example of how photo editing software can be troublesome to work with. On screen, that second photo looks warmer; nicer. But when you print them, the top one is going to look a lot better; the bottom will look too red.

I've learned with my photo editing software to adjust those reds and greens to not be so much for prints.

It is fun, though. How about a water-color version of the cabbages?

  3. I think Seester's right - the bottom picture looks better on the screen, but I'm willing to bet that the top one would win out in a print contest.

    What a cutie!

You fixed the over-orange of the bottom picture, and you improved the contrast, although the eyes may be a bit too dark now.

  5. I'm so glad I did this. I didn't realize this about the printing issues. Now I'll look at things with the end product in mind. Thanks!
