1. A Mother: ...in denominations (gets blank stare from daughter) so it's given out in increments.
Her Daughter: Mom?
AM: What?
HD: What are increments?
We were passing on the street so I don't know how long this went on. I almost turned around and followed them to see.

3. "Because every klezmer band in town is booked and I desperately need a band. But if I hire you, you have to be willing to "hora". Is that a problem?" Heidi, Dummy
4. "All of us have to recognize that we owe our children more than we have been giving them." Hilary Clinton
5. Everything from last night's episode of How I Met Your Mother. I'm sorry I don't have time to transcribe the whole thing, you'd love it.
6. "I think they should invent a new word... a word that describes how you feel before you kiss someone. I think it's like when a bird decides that it can fly." Grace Manning, Once & Again
7. "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't." Hamlet
8. "Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference." Barack Obama

Kiss, these are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been watching much (read ANY) tv lately, so I am entirely clueless - is How I met your Mother that good? Can I have the skinny?
Mind if I borrow this idea? Credit to you, of course.
I've got a friend in crisis today, and am swirling around Leo's story too Josh about the guy in the hole. "What are you, CRAZY?! Now we're BOTH in this hole."
ReplyDelete"Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out..."
OM, feel free to use anything I do and I love getting credit for it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHIMYM is really very good. It's possibly the start of a sitcom renaissance, if you will. For me the best part is Neil Patrick Harris (formerly Doogie Howser) playing a character who should be terribly off putting and ends up being endearing. The story lines are almost always beautifully crafted to link together in unexpected ways and they have never, in my memory, used a piece of information or a gag that wasn't solid enough for them to refer back to in later episodes. And they DO refer back, in often hilarious ways. I highly recommend it. And if you record it it's only 22 minutes out of your week, well worth the investment.
Chili, I always thought the last line of that story was, "At least we're in here together." Heh. Shows you whether I'm a glass full kind of girl or not, eh? Love that quote and that ep. So sad that John Spencer is dead.
