Kath's brain child, The Great Pupkin is nearly upon us. She's got a great idea for a costume for Mr. Ed and she's willing to help me construct it but I need to get hold of a few things first and I'm hoping you can help me since my Craigs List and Ebay skills are limited.
I'm buying him a Gentle Leader harness because he needs one anyway. (Overheard this weekend, "Oh! He really can pull!")
We need a stuffed (plush, not taxidermied) shark. It should be at least 16" long, preferably a little longer and the mouth should be open at least partially. Type of shark isn't a big deal but your basic toothy monster is what we're looking for.
One or two pieces of Discovery Channel clothing or accessories. T-shirt, cap, jacket, anything with a prominent logo. This is something I could borrow and send back to you, too. It won't be harmed and it won't be worn by a dog, just near him. Near a lot of dogs. Bonus points if the item references Shark Week.
I don't want to spend a ton of money on this kind of thing but I can surely pay shipping on items and understand that purchasing a plush shark that I plan to destroy will cost a little money. More than $20 on the item seems like too much to me, though. What do you think?
If anyone has any of these things or knows where they exist and can point me to them I need to acquire all the pieces in the next week or so because Kath has a lot of beings to outfit and a huge contest to wrangle so I can't be all last minute about it.
Thanks in advance for your help because I know you will help because you guys are all way smarter than I am about hunting for things like this.

here is a decent-looking shark for cheap.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a look and see if we have anything appropriate left over from David's days at Discovery. Sadly, I do not have a plush shark. Although I have a lovely canine Malificent hat!
ReplyDeleteI know it's a surprise, but the one area I don't go overboard on Halloween is the dogs. I have Halloween print bandannas, and that's about it.
Although this year, I think we are going to make Mabel a ruff, since Jacob is going as Shakespeare.
OH! here is another good-looking shark option...they have a 16" great white for under $20.
ReplyDeletehey, is that a shiba in the first pic?
ReplyDeleteIt might be a shiba mix, not sure. We have a few shibas in the nabe.
