My Day

Today is my birthday.

I don't really know where I'm going with this year yet. We had brunch plans, as we always do on the 2nd Sunday of the month, and they all went a little left of center. The company was good. The cake was superb. The pace was easy.

I suppose if the same can be said for the year to come I'll be pretty fucking lucky.

I've been pondering doing a 365 project. I've always liked what Cindy said about doing her first one, how it made her feel about herself. So I started tonight, created a set on Flickr, took a shot in my dirty bathroom mirror and uploaded it. I can't imagine I'll upload them every day but there's a decent chance I'll remember to take one every day until my 43rd birthday.

And just like that I started my list for this year - take a picture of myself every day.

  1. Happy Birthday. SO, every day? Even hair in a pony, pajama-clad couch hog days? Cool.

    Enjoy!

  2. I think you doing a 365 is a perfect thing to start on your birthday. You have that kind of commitment to things (remember TWC?) so I love this. And cannot wait to see what you post. Happy Birthday. I love you.

  3. Thanks smalltownmom!

O'Mama, yeah, every day. The not being made up and perfect thing doesn't bother me too too much. On the other hand I don't think I'm above doing a hand portrait or a window reflection some days.

Misti, I think I can do it. I might forget but I'm trying not to feel panic about that. Love you back.

  4. Happy Birthday! I think I might start one next month on my birthday too...unless I come to my senses.

  5. Happy Birthday! There will be days where it's really hard to even fathom the idea of taking a picture of yourself. Those are days where you take a picture of your feet or hands. But now I wear mascara everyday. I didn't use to do that.

  6. Happiest birthday. If I were there, I'd fete you truly properly. With glitter! So when you find some shiny sparkly stuff randomly on your sleeve, or in your shoe, or perhaps on Eddie, know it was me sending the best of best wishes your way.

Your year is going to be filled with all kinds of wonderful. I just know it. xo

  7. I talked to Cindy about this when I was home and want to do it for the same reason.
I'm starting mine on February 14th because it's about learning to love myself.
