I know. I promised levity. I'll get to it.
I hope.
In the mean time please enjoy this photo of a grateful man running the New York City Marathon and consider checking me out on Twitter today where I am retweeting pretty much every little scrap of information I can find about the eviction at the Occupy Wall Street Camp last night.
In the event you find yourself in a conversation with someone who believes what they're hearing from the government about the camp please feel free to say that you know someone who has been there (me) and she says that the camp was no more or less sanitary than any other park or plaza in New York City.
Also, if anyone can find reliable information on what happened to the camp's library I'd really like to know.
I'll try to be funny later. You have my word.

Occupy Wall Street tweeted that all the books were thrown in the trash. Seems like everyone on twitter is correlating this. Several people I follow said everything in the tent, including the tent, was put in the trash. This includes paperwork, art work and the books. Neil Gaiman just posted a link with a list of books thrown out, including his. That's about as reliable as I've got right now. Why couldn't they save the books? A local library, school or shelter could have used them. Such a senseless waste!
ReplyDeleteNYC Mayors Office just tweeted this. Property from #Zuccotti, incl #OWS library, safely stored @ 57th St Sanit Garage; can be picked up Weds http://t.co/ITjCMZp0
