Photo Challenge: DONE/BEGUN

Here we go, kicking off a brandy new year of photo challenges. I love this tradition and thank you to everyone who encourages it.

To recap, these are the results of the DONE/BEGUN challenge and if you scroll down, enjoying the photos while you do, you'll see the next challenge. I hope you'll join us.

I've been doing a 365 project, taking photos of my hands. This shot is part of year 3 of Elephant Soap's photo a day of herself. I am inspired by her creativity and bravery in setting up shots. I hope to learn from it.

I wanted to see the recent lunar eclipse but I did not get my ass out of the house to do so. Lshykula is always ready to jump at a chance to do and see things. So I watched the eclipse through her lens. Thanks, Lisa!

My neighborhood has a fantastic tradition of blowing off steam (pipes) at midnight on New Year's Eve. On the way there this year I ran into herm007 and her clan. This shot of her youngest during the loudest portion of the evening perfectly communicates how crazy it feels when it's so loud your innards are vibrating and all that does is make you smile.

Fondofsnape was the first person I knew to regularly make composite photos to get her point across. I love it when she does one specially for the challenge like this one. Now that I've gotten an iPad app to help me make them I hope to follow in her footsteps.

One of my other favorite neighborhood traditions is caroling. Along the route we always go down into a local subway station to sing in the wonderful tunnel acoustics. I snapped this as we headed back to street level to surprise some more neighbors with our lusty voices.

I like picking prompts that have a number of meanings but, for me at least, resonate with current events. Therefore behold the next challenge: RESOLVED.  What do you think?

Please add your photos to our Flickr photo pool by 9am on Tuesday January 17th for posting on Wednesday January 18th . Let me know if you have any questions.

  1. I snorted at "bravery in setting up shots". I love herm007's blurry child. It's all things kids and Holiday. It's like they vibrate with energy from all the sugar and excitement.
