Kids in the Hall...and Oates

My neighborhood is full of cars that throb with the beat from their million dollar stereo systems, making the neon outlines of their undercarriages pulse and flicker.

So I wasn't surprised to feel the thrum as I walked the dog this evening. Well not until I listened more closely and heard, "..guilty feet have got no rhythm..."

  1. That's not really a boom-chicka-boom song, is it? Was it a rap remake that I haven't heard yet? You'd think they'd be scanning the channels for something more, I don't know, recent? That's like a twenty year old song - sn't it one of the cheezy WHAM ballads? UGH! Now I'll have that song in my head all day!

  2. Thoroughly and completely not a remake of this song. Quite posibly the original, ON 8 TRACK! OK, not that bad but still, this is what happens when you let your mom borrow your car.

You think you're sorry you've got that song stuck in your head? I heard it right before I went to bed. The stuff that nightmares are made of, I assure you.

Also, I'm sad to report that the song is more than likely at LEAST 25 years old.

I'm confused by your blog entry title - it sounds like a Wham song to me too. So it's only about 20 years old :-)

  4. Dear Needing a new nickname chick,
I will defer to your superior musical knowledge. I was sure that Wham! had given us that particular gem back when we were in junior high which was just under 25 years ago. But I'm totally willing to be called wrong on this one. Anything to feel even the tiniest bit less ancient.
