Chili and her Mr. have been watching Band of Brothers on the History Channel.
After a few episodes she's come to the conclusion that the cast would make a good Hot People post.
Given how ungodly obsessed I was with Band of Brothers a while ago I'm shocked that I haven't done that already. A quick tour of the archives shows that I haven't, though.
I would humbly suggest that if one is watching the show on the History Channel one is missing the full impact. If you like what you see there you sort of owe it to yourself to rent or even buy the DVDs and get the full immersion therapy. Truly amazing.

ReplyDeleteI have a particular affinity for the last three gentlemen in the roster - Damian Lewis, Donnie Wahlberg, and Ron Livingston. They all fall into my "skinny white boy" thing.
I COMPLETELY agree with you that the DVDs are FAR more of an experience than the watered-down, cut for time and content television showings, but one can still get a pretty good idea of the quality of the production (and the horrors of war) from the t.v. versions. BoB has been on my Amazon wish list for a while now; I've just not had it in me to pony up the cash for it just yet...

ReplyDeleteIt's a ton of cash, isn't it? Sigh. Such a good project, though. Damian Lewis is a particular favorite of mine as well. I don't tend to like Ron Livingston in anything else but I just love him in BoB. He's a relentlessly honest sort of character in it.
