The Parks Department has been doing some restoration on the monument in the distance and the scaffolding is finally coming down. This is a view from the main entrance to the park up past the toddler playground and the de facto soccer field. This will be a beautifully different view come spring.

Don't count on it. I think that netting was just getting really tangly so they took it down. From what I hear, the restoration is far from over. They haven't worked on it regularly since last summer due to some problem with the new lighting design. Argh.
