You know those days when your feelings just get hurt at every little turn and everything you try to do takes 4 more steps than you planned and you feel about a foot separate from the rest of the world? Generally it's the perfect sort of day to spend inside, curled up with a good book and a vat of hot fudge sauce but you're expected to go to go out and accomplish stuff and every little disappointment makes you want to cry just a little. I'm having one of those days. You know what's good for that? Oz quotes. Not "Wizard of" more Daniel Osbourne, Willow's real beloved. So here are some of those:
"So I'm wondering, do the other cookie animals feel sort of ripped? Like, is the hippo going, "Hey, man, where are my pants? I have my hippo dignity." And you know, the monkey's just, "I mock you with my monkey pants!" And then there's a big coup in the zoo." -- Oz!
"The monkey is French?"
"All monkeys are French. You didn't know that?" -- Willow and Oz!
"You know, I never really thanked you."
"Oh, yeah, please don't. I don't do thanks. I get all red. Have to bail. It's not pretty." -- Willow and Oz!
Oz: Sometimes when I'm sitting in class...you know, I'm not thinking about class 'cause that would never happen... I think about kissing you. And it's like everything stops, it's like, freeze frame: Willow kissage.
Buffy: We have a marching jazz band?
Oz: Yeah, but, you know, since the best jazz is improvisational, we'd be going off in all directions, banging into floats... scary.
Willow: He's just being Oz.
Oz: Pretty much full time.
Oz: So, do you steal weapons from the Army often?
Willow: Well, we don't get cable, so we have to make our own fun.
Willow: Oz is a werewolf.
Buffy: It's a long story.
Oz: Got bit.
Buffy: But obviously not that long.
And, because we cannot speak of Buffy without him, one last word from Spike (not pictured):
Spike: I'm really glad I came here, you know? I've been all wrongheaded about this. Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else. I want Dru back, I've just gotta be the man I was, the man she loved. I'm gonna do what I shoulda done in the first place: I'll find her, wherever she is, tie her up, torture her until she likes me again. Love's a funny thing.
Oh, you're right.
ReplyDeleteThat did help.
Oz is so flipping cool it always helps. It's better than stem cell research.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteSorry you are having a tough go of it. Is there anything I can do for you?
ReplyDeleteOh man. You are so right. I needed that first thing this morning. What is WITH THE FUNK???? Full moon isn't till Friday, dangit.
ReplyDeletewe need some vamp patrol in our lives. we just do.
Funny, I felt EXACTLY the same way yesterday. It was awful. These quotes of yours? Totally helped.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who Oz is but these are funny quotes. Is that Seth Green with those two lovely dogs?
ReplyDeleteI definitely feel this way sometimes.
Yes, that is the fantastic and freakish Seth Green. I think those are really his dogs, too.
ReplyDeleteTotally helped me, and made me want to banish blahs for a good 4 hours of Buffy watching straight. Thanks for posting those - made me all grin-y - and I hope they helped YOU!
ReplyDeleteHere's another from Spike:
"She wouldn't even kill me. She just left. She didn't even care enough to cut off my head, or set me on fire. I mean, is that too much to ask? You know? Some little sign that she cared? It was the truce with Buffy that did it. Dru said I'd gone soft - wasn't demon enough for the likes of her"
Never having seen one episode of Buffy... gasp... I cannot appreciate this... however... isn't this the guy from Entourage that is such a little weasel?
ReplyDeleteChin up love! Go buy a new pair of shoes! and some ice cream!
Oh, Oz. Sigh.
