Piece Meal

I think I'm going to this movie this afternoon.

Today is the last day of service at Freddy's bar. Tomorrow they move to Park Slope after losing the fight to Bruce "More! Useless! Buildings!" Ratner.

I weigh in at 136. It's no movement from last week. I've still got about 10lbs to go and, my progress, she is not in the right direction.

I wrote about feminine odor at the Colony today.

In that piece I linked to one of my favorite Mark Allen Berube songs. (It's playing on the widget in the lower left of that site.) Two people have already commented on how much they like it, too.

I'm eligible for a phone upgrade in a couple of weeks. I'm leaning toward this phone but they might force me to buy a data package. If they do that should I bite the bullet and get a smartphone instead? Blackberry now and be locked in for two years or wait to see if I Verizon is really getting the iPhone in a few months? Or switch to AT&T for iPhone now?

I seem to have chosen a Queen Margaret monologue from Henry VI Part 2. I have a lot of reading to do this weekend.

It's going to be in the 80s this weekend. I cannot wait!

How are you? What's up? Talk to me, please, I'm going a little stir crazy.

  1. Brilliant post over at the WC. well done. Im continuously inspired by your grace and dignity in doing that job. Your committment is just...well. I realize that I would have told them to suck it waaaaay before now and look at you. Teaching me another life lesson! I'd be a bumbling idiot lo these many years without your lead to follow!

the phone thing...i've a best good friend/client who works for the V. I myself love my smartphone. It's worth the bitty extra for the data package. there's so many out there to choose from you can really formulate your own bill to what you can afford. look into it. I am a Blackberry girl. a purple one in fact. i love it. I'm with Sprint and have been my whole cellular life, and that's rare and a card that I can play with the company if need arises. I digress. My V friend feels really strongly that when AT&T's contract with iPhone expires soon, they will cast the next farther into the cellular world. why not try a smart phone with you you have now...see if you like it, if it's worth it to you, then you can switch devices when/if they move and not have the hassle of changing companies...

plus...I dont think there's insurance offered on the iPhone yet. I have it on my Blackberry.

  2. I would wait for the iphone. You wont be disappointed. My work phone is a Verizon and I hate the service. Sometimes it wont ring and my voice mail doesn't show up for days. Everyone knows that if I don't respond by the end of the day to call me back. If you are happy with your service, stick with it. If not, wait till June to get the newest iphone with AT&T.

  4. I work for Verizon tech support now, so I admit my opinion is a little biased, but my understanding is that IF the iPhone comes to VZW, it likely won't be until early 2011. By all accounts it is a great phone (just ask Mr & Mrs C), so if you don't want to wait, go for it. Or, if you like Verizon more than AT&T and don't want to wait, go for either the Motorola Droid, the HTC Droid Eris, or the HTC Incredible.

  5. I have hated every Nicole Holofcenter movie so far...I wonder if this one will be as odious as "Friends With Money," which pissed me off seven ways from Sunday. Good luck!

  6. I have a cheapass $10 TracFone. Works for me, for as often as I need to use a cell phone.

I'm finishing the basement purge this weekend and, once the detritus from the basement is gone and I can see the yard again, I'm going to try to do some actual work on it so it looks like a yard. You know, with grass and stuff. In there somewhere we'll train.

The womenfolk of the house are going to see a production of Annie.
