Photo Challenge: GRRR!

Apparently a lot of you are way too polite to go primal. I admit it was hard for me, too. It's possible I was overthinking it. Not to worry, though, there are fun pics ahead. (Ahoy! Whenever I say something is ahead I have an irresistible urge to say Ahoy!) The challenge was GRRR! Per the comments on the last challenge I'll say a few words about each image. Let me know if you like that or want me to shut my, well, my shutter. Scroll down to see the next challenge.

Fondofsnape also submitted a full on chupacabra shot of Max but I like that this one is ripe with possibility.

Seriously, lshykula, this entelodent freaks me right the hell out. Is it a real thing or a sci fi thing?

While herm007 also submitted a dog shot that I love the punk polar bear was irresistible.

I (kizzbeth) didn't submit any dog pics or even live animals. Unbelievable! This dragon is carved into a mahogany armoire in the Forbidden City in Beijing.

The next prompt is CATCH/RELEASE. Please submit photos to our Flickr Pool any time before 9am on Tuesday April 26 for posting on Wednesday April 27. Submit as many as you like, tagged with PhotoChallenge and CATCH/RELEASE. Feel free to interpret that any way you like.

Thanks again for playing along. I love this feature and I hope you do, too.

The horrifying Hell's Pig was part of an exhibit about the emerging Nebraska grasslands at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. I'm just glad the thing wasn't animatronic! It seriously has an evil look.

  3. That pig is SCARY!!! And the (un)funny thing about the pic of my dogs is the one on the left picked a fight with the one on the right and bit the tip of his ear off! Talk about GRRR!!!

  4. If I had permission and/or I had taken it myself, I would have posted my Buddhist monk friend's profile pic, which is him with his new beard, after months of solitary retreat, making a growly Sasquatch face. Priceless.

    The dragon is gorgeous.

I was sure at the beginning of this post that the next challenge would be "Ahoy"-themed.

  7. You guys should check out the cutest ever late breaking entry for GRRR in the pool. It's from Sueb0b.

Janet, that would have made me pretty fucking growly. It was my biggest fear for Emily (silly fear but I had it) that she would provoke a fight and the other dog would tear into her ears. She had really special ears.

Cindy, you've had a couple other things on your mind. I bet you'll remember this time.

jaruuds, huh, that would have been simple and smart of me, wouldn't it? Can't believe I didn't even notice that opportunity. Well, we've got more challenges to come!
